ALTERNATIVE COMICS STREET ART PAINTING PERFORMANCE

HEY APATHY! ALTERNATIVE COMICS STREET ART PERFORMANCE

HEY APATHY! The City is a giant gear propelled by all the different and crazy people moving through it. In order to investigate the monstrous metropolis and it's diverse and absurd denizens, I started setting up large black and white street art displays in downtown Toronto. By exhibiting and experimenting in public, I was able to learn many things about architecture and others having talked to thousands of people from all over the world and of all walks of life.  This video is a time lapse documentation of a typical day in my life on the streets. The 10 x 12 foot ink mural features an iconographic City of Gears and was made in 3.5 hours. Time lapse Photographed by Craig Boyko.

Close-up of finished CITY of GEARS street mural. During the busy and seasonable summer weather, I often would often set up on the concrete and get to work. In 2007 I made 27 of these giant performance drawings but have since been spending more time on comics and animations.
